Robert J. Crowley, Ph.D., is a professor emeritus of Human Development Counseling at the University of Illinois at Springfield. He received the Master of Arts in Teaching from Harvard, and the doctorate in Education from the University of Michigan. During his extensive career he has taught the course in career/lifestyle development for twenty-five years, in addition to his regular courses in developmental counseling. With the advent of the computer he has written and teaches personally three distance-learning courses for use online, one of which is a course devoted to career case management. Dr. Crowley is the sole author of the CAPSTONE PLAN.

He has served as president of the Illinois Career Development Association. He belongs to the American Psychological Association, and is a licensed psychologist registered in Illinois.

As your coach Dr. Crowley will devote his professional skills to providing knowledgeable support while you master the transition to your desired career. With his assistance you will develop and implement a planned approach to achieve your career goal. His major efforts include establishing and guiding your problem- solving as well as decision-making skills in a career-oriented context.

As your counselor, he can apply the appropriate theory and techniques of counseling needed to minimize most personal and environmental barriers you may encounter. This assistance can include readiness to lend professional support in personal distress caused by unemployment, unexpected job loss, or job dissatisfaction. He will strive to earn and justify both your trust and confidence in his ability to assist you in realizing the prized career of your dreams. When he is associated with you in the PLAN, he is available by email at all times for consultation.
